Resumen:
In this paper, we present data on the geochemical composition of the graniticstock of Villismán, Sierra de Ancasti, Catamarca province (Argentina). Zoned Lipegmatiteswith giant spodumene crystals are present in the neighboring area surroundingthe granitic body. Both the granite and the Li-pegmatites intrude to banded schists whichhas great extension in the range. These rocks belong to the Villismán pegmatite group ofthe Ancasti district (Pampean Pegmatite Province). Geochemically, the granite isperaluminous, rich in silica and potassium. It has a calcoalkaline character and has S- typegranites affinity. The geochemical data obtained and the chronological informationavailable in the literature indicate that the Villismán granite and the surrounding lithiumpegmatites would not have a genetic relationship.
