Resumen:
Rats exposed to incentive downshifts show deterioration of consummatory behavior relative to unshifted controls—consummatory successive negative contrast (cSNC). Two experiments demonstrated small, but reliable cSNC in a within-subject design involving exposure to two contexts paired with either 16% or 2% sucrose. This cSNC effect required pretrial contextual exposure (Experiment 1) and occurred in the absence of simultaneous contrast (Experiment 2). These results suggest that cSNC can be influenced by contextual cues.
