Resumen:
In this chapter, the reported works deal with the application of the photo-rearrangement reactions in organic synthesis and the coverage period of the original research articles is 2015 ? 2019. The chapter is organised according to the way the photoreactions were performed: direct irradiation, photo catalysis and photosensitization methodologies. The first section of the chapter is mainly organised according to the reaction types (e.g., Wolff, photo-Fries, photo-Smiles, Photo-Favorskii, Givens, (oxa)-di--methane,[1;j]-sigmatropic rearrangement, etc). The second section of the chapter outlines group rearrangement reactions under visible?light photocatalysis, photoredox and photoorganocatalysis methodologies. Thus, the first part deals with metal photocatalysts derived from iridium, ruthenium, rhodium, copper and iron complexes while the second part describes the photoreactions carried out with photoorganocatalysts such as eosin, 9-fluorenone, 2,4,6-tritolylpyrylium tetrafluoroborate, erythrosine and 9-mesityl-10-acridinium perchlorate. Finally, the third section describes photochemical rearrangement reactions that involve triplet energy photosensitizers or photoinduced electron transfer sensitizers. These kinds of photosensitizers are able to absorb the UV-light source and are used in stoichiometric amounts.
