Resumen:
The metal-to-ligand charge transfer (MLCT) excited states of ruthenium polypyridines can be described as a combination of a reduced ligand and an oxidized metal center. In a {Ru(tpy)(bpy)} complex, the MLCT states bear a tpy?- radical anion and a Ru(III).What happens with the hole when the photoexcited metal center is electronically coupled with another metal center, as in photoinduced mixed valence systems?
