Resumen:
We report on combined experimental and theoretical study of XUV ionization of atomic argon in presence ofa near-infrared laser eld with energy and angular resolution of the photoemission spectra. Such photoelectronspectra has been described in the literature as an interference problem in the time domain. Whereas electrontrajectories stemming from dierent optical laser cycles give rise to intercycle interference energy peaks knownas sidebands, these sidebands are modulated by a coarse grained (gross) structure coming from the intracycleinterference of the electron trajectories born during the same optical cycle. We perform the calculations bysolving the time-dependent Schrodinger equation ab initio and within the continuum-distorted wave strong eldapproximation. In order to compare with the experimental data we average the calculated energy-angle probabilitydistributions over the experimental focal volume. This averaging procedure washes out the intracycle interferencepattern, which we recovered by subtracting two averaged distributions for slightly dierent near-infrared laser eldintensities.
