Resumen:
Electroretinography (ERG) is a noninvasive technique that assess retinal functional integrity. ERG records are biopotentials acquired in the corneal surface, due to retinaltissue response to controlled light stimuli. In clinical ophthalmology ERG is not commonly used, but due to the high incidence of degenerative diseases of the retina, theiruse should be increasedERG is a low-amplitude signal (microvolts), that must be conditioned, denoised and processed. The ERG signals are affected in morphology due to the presence ofpathologies that affect the integrity of different cell groups of the retina, for example RD. In advanced cases of RD, ERG signals could be severely altered in the timedomain; and even in those extinguished records it is believed there is relevant clinical information. This study seeks to identify characteristics of ERG signals in early stages of Retinal Degeneration (RD) for pattern recognition and signalsclassification as control or pathological ones.
