Resumen:
In this work a simulation of CO in the Metropolitan Area of Buenos Aires (MABA) is presented. Buenos Aires is considered one of the biggest megacities in the world and the third in Latin America. The Grupo de Monitoreo Ambiental of the Comisión Nacional de Energía Atómica in Argentina has been developing an emission inventory taking into account types of vehicles and fuel. The emission factors have been computed using the COPERT III methodology and measuring campaigns based on the IVE (International Vehicle Emissions) methodology have been performed. The Polyphemus platform is configured for the MABA domain, where the meteorology is obtained through MM5 simulations, and where we include the updated emission inventory. Results of the simulation and validations are given.
