In this expository talk we will refer to our joint published research with Sergio Console and hisrelated publications. We will put this in a perspectiveto future developments on this subjects.In the last part we will explain, in some detail,one of our last papers which is related to homogeneousRiemannian geometry. We have chosenthis article since the subjects that are involvedare very general, non-technical and would be ofwide interest to geometers.
