ntroduced by Hamilton, the Ricci flow has been a very useful tool, not only in geometry, in last years. A Ricci soliton is a solution of the Ricci flow that evolve self similar up to constant and pullback by diffeomorphisms. In the non compact homogeneous case, the only known examples are the so called solvsolitons. In this talk we will give a basic introduction with special focus in low dimension.
