Representations of Virtual Braid Groups

Kauffman introduced in [K] the virtual knot theory as a generalization of the classical knot theory. The virtual braid groups appear in conection with the virtual knot theory as a generalization of the well known conection between classical braid groups and knot theory. We are interested in the representations of the virtual braid groups obtained from representations of the classical braid group. We are going to show some representations of the braid groups that can be extended, for instance, the Burau representations and the Lawrence-Krammer representations [B]. However, there are others representations that can not be extended [E].
