CONFERENCIA PLENARIA (no es artículo). The normal holonomy group of Euclidean or Lorentzian (Riemannian) submanifolds, has interesting applications both in submanifold and Riemannian geometry (in particular, for giving a geometrical proof of the Berger holonomy theorem). After a very general survey on this subject, we will comment on recent results, related, though in a hidden way, to normal holonomy (which includes a recent result of Vittone)
