Resumen:
As a result of systematic sampling campaigns on the Nothofagus spp. forests in the northern Patagonia of Argentina, were collected several specimens of sequestrate fungi. Some of this specimens showed affinities to Thaxterogaster, recently synonymized with Cortinarius on the basis of molecular analysis of the ITS region of nuclear DNA. The study of the macro and micro morphological features, as well as the phylogenetic analysis of the ITS sequences made possible to identify and described these specimens as new species. Four new taxa presented here are, Cortinarius flavopurpureus Pastor & Nouhra, C. translucidus Pastor & Nouhra, C. nahuelhuapensis Pastor & Nouhra and C. infrequens Pastor & Nouhra. The ITS sequences of these new species were combined and analyzed on a matrix with a total of 43 taxa of Cortinarius s.l. using Maximum Parsimony and Bayesian Inference methods. The four new species were resolved as separate groups with strong support at the time that it was possible to recover several infrageneric clades previously proposed in the literature
