Synflorescences in Andropogon lateralis complex (Andropogoneae-Poaceae)

The synflorescences in the Andropogon lateralis complex are typologically characterized, with this complex being composed of about a dozen taxa, including species and inter-specific hybrids that are distributed mainly in South America. We based our analysis on the typology system developed by Troll and Weberling, which has proved useful in describing inflorescence. The typological pattern has been described and presents differences in the following parameters: main axis of the enrichment zone, primary paracladia of the trophotagma, unit of the inflorescence, short paracladia subzone, and short paracladia. A comparative analysis of the variations hobserved in the structure of the synflorescence is included.
