Resumen:
The essential oil of the aerial parts of Baccharis grisebachii was examined by GC and GCMS and evaluated for its antimicrobial properties. Forty threee essential oils constituents were identified representing 94.3% of the total. Thymol, thymol methyl ether, thymil acetate, alpha pinene, alpha humulene, adn globulo were found to be the major components. The oil showed MIC valuse > 250 microgram/ml against C. neoformans, 125 micrograms/ml Aspergillus spp, and particulary against T. mentagrophytes and T. rubrum.
