Resumen:
The development of systems allowing the therapeutic drugs administration precisely controlled is a challenge thatdepends both on the development of new technologies and on basic research in the health area. In this paper we present thedevelopment of a closed loop system controlled by myoelectric signals capable of infusing dopamine doses according to itsmetabolic demand. The system combines technological devices, such as Raspberry Pi and Arduino systems, connected to amicropump activated by the EMG signal. This development was applied to a neurotoxic model of Parkinson´s disease in rats, which produces sustancia nigra neurons depletion and, therefore, motor deficits. The tests performed showed that dopamineinfusion restores baseline values of the muscle parameters. Although this development raises the evaluation of the infusionsystem in a parkinsonian model with dopamine deficiency, the application could be extended to other neurological orneurodegenerative diseases
