Resumen:
Modification of polymer properties using nanoparticles as modifiers offers huge possibilities in order to extend polymers application field [1]. Good filler-polymer compatibilization is a key factor to enhance particle dispersion [2]. The aim of this work is to analyze the effect of modified montmorillonite addition on HDPE matrix properties. Montmorillonite (MNa) clay was modified by ionic exchange with hexadecyltrimetyl ammonium ion (MH). Subsequently, octamethylcyclotetrasiloxane was incorporated into interlamellar spaces (MH_T4). Two materials were obtained by melt mixing HDPE with MH_T4: HDPE/MH_T4 and HDPE/MH_T4(per), where HDPE/MH_T4(per) is a mixture containing also benzoyl peroxide.
