Resumen:
Nanocomposites of HDPE polymer as matrix were performed in a mixer chamber with 3 % of organoclay content. The mixtures of HDPE, polyamide 6 and organoclay were characterized by X-ray diffraction, termogravimetry and transmission electron microscopy; the barrier properties were determined by cyclohexane pervaporation and solubility. This work shows that the degree of exfoliation and/or intercalation and the barrier properties depend on a combination of the proper chemical treatment and optimized processing in nanocomposites preparation.
