Resumen:
There is a steady growth ofelectricity generation using renewable energies, which is caused mainly by theneed to avoid issues related to oil prices and its scarcity, and the nonpolluting nature of said energies. This increase is also supported by laws andincentives for the use of renewable energies. As a consequence of this, thesolar photovoltaic energy market has been firmly growing since a couple ofdecades ago. Measurements and/or estimation of the available solar resource areneeded with the purpose of installing a photovoltaic central. Then, consideringits different stages, the photovoltaic central characteristics and productivitymust be analyzed. It is possible to make a costs - benefits analysis if themeasured values of solar resource and the generation estimation of the powerplant are used together with the costs involved, the context and the currentlegislation. Given that each country has its own cost structure and regulationsreferred to electricity generation using renewable sources, it is necessary toperform a study taking into account said aspects and the possible location ofthe installation. In Argentina, there are practically no papers analyzing saidaspects.
