Resumen:
Urvillea venezuelensis, from northwestern Venezuela, is described, illustrated, and compared to its putative closest relative U. dasycarpa. Additionally micromorphological characters of pollen grains are described. The new species belongs to Urvillea section Stenelytron, which is characterized by compressed fruit locules.
