Resumen:
Degradation of Orange G and Methylene Blue dyes using Fenton
is investigated. Experiments have been carried out in a batch reactor with
magnetic stirring, at 298K and 323K and pH 3. Performance was evaluated
by UV/VIS spectrophotometric, total organic carbon (TOC), pH and H2O2
concentration measurements. The effect of temperature, air flow, H2O2
concentration and dosification and reaction times on decolourization as well
as on mineralization is analyzed. Decolourization of Orange G undergoes a
faster reaction rate than mineralization. Only decolourization is observed for
MB oxidation. The presence of air bubbling into the solution definitely
enhances the Fenton process for both dyes and so it does the sequential
addition of H2O2O2
