Resumen:
SHAPE MEMORY POLYMERS BASED ON AN EPOXY NETWORK CURED WITH A MIXTURE OF AMINES A new Shape Memory Polymer was synthetized, crosslinking a di-epoxy monomer based on diglycidyl ether of bisphenol A (DGEBA) with a mixture of bi-functional dodecilamine (DA) and tetra-functional Meta-xylylene-diamine (MXDA). The Tg of the material can be varied from 15 to 120ºC, by modifying the relative amounts of DA and MXDA. Good shape recovery after repretitive cycles of heating-deformation-cooling-recovery was attained. It was also observed that an annealing process above Tg for several days lead to an increase of Tg and modulus. This is explained considering that DA chains undergo nanostructuration, acting as physical crosslinks. The effects of nanostructuration are currently being quantified by reology and mechanical testing.
