Resumen:
This paper deals with the prediction of high-cycle fatigue behavior of metallic components by using integrated fracture mechanics tools. The methodology, that uses a resistance curve concept associated to the fatigue crack propagation threshold as a function of crack length, allows taking into account the effect of the main different microstructural, geometrical and mechanical parameters associated to a given configuration (component). Applications for fatigue limit and fatigue life estimations and for defect and notch sensitivity analysis are presented. Results show good and conservative estimations.
