Resumen:
The effect of both potential cycling (PC) and storage time in the supportingelectrolyte (ST) on the optical and conducting properties of poly-o-aminophenol(POAP) and polypyrrole (Ppy) films are investigated employing ellipsometry and electrochemicalimpedance spectroscopy. The existence of two different irreversible regimes isevident for the polymers, POAP and Ppy, as related to their optical and the conductingproperties: a film thickness swelling followed by an increase in theheterogeneity. A slight decrease in the charge transport rate followed by amore pronounced effect for longer times during the potential cycling areobserved through the conducting parameters. Theoptical indices values are compared with those predicted by the effectivemedium theories. The charge transport parameters obtained in this work areinterpreted by employing a suitable impedance model.
