Resumen:
Two new species of Enochrus Thomson (Coleoptera, Hydrophilidae) from the Neotropical Region Liliana Alicia Fernández Departamento Científico de Entomología del Museo de La Plata, Paseo del Bosque 1900 La Plata, Argentina. E-mail: liliafer@museo.fcnym.unlp.edu.ar ABSTRACT Enochrus (Methydrus) barituensis new species and Enochrus (Methydrus) robustus new species are described from the Neotropical Region. They are distinguished from all other known Neotropical Enochrus (Methydrus) by the prosternum highly tectiform, anteriorly keel-shaped. E. barituensis can be distinguished from E. robustus by its smaller size, by the prosternal and mesosternal crest and by the aedeagus morphology. Illustrations of the diagnostical characters are provided. The total number of Argentine species of Enochrus is here enlarged to 18 (one of subgenus Hydatothrephis, eighth of Hugoscottia and nine of Methydrus).
