Resumen:
This work is focused on materials that can provide solutions tobiodeterioration by synthesizing hygienic paints with antimi-crobial additives, such as Ag inclusion in silica-based mate-rials. The protection of different World Heritage Monuments istaken as an example. The link between humanistic disciplinesand the natural sciences is suggested as a way to betterappreciate human?s surrounding environment and to betterconnecting different worldviews.
