Resumen:
Because one-third of the total energy demand inArgentina corresponds to the residential sector, there is an urgent need todefine criteria and implement measures, including the labeling of energyefficiency of buildings, the rational use of energy, and the sustainableconstruction. Energy simulation of buildings is a working area that is at thecenter of the problem and an essential resource for estimating the energyconsumption associated with the use of housing. This requirement is also stronglydependent on the climatic conditions of the place where the house is locatedand considering the comfort conditions required for each climate. The occurrence of extreme events and changes inits characteristics (e.g., increase, intensification and/or changes in thefrequency of occurrence of warm spells) will have an impact on the energysector. To estimate it, we perform a series of experiments using a buildings?energy simulation platform (Energy Plus) to evaluate the hygrothermal behaviorof social houses in Rosario City (Argentina), forced by boundary conditionsfrom CORDEX models. Aim of this work is to (i) study the hygrothermal behaviorof social houses, (ii) define design improvements and estimate changes in theaverage energy demand, and (iii) analyze the impact of the occurrence ofextreme events and (iv) the impact of the climate change on the peaks of energydemand due to consumption from the residential sector.
