Resumen:
In this work, we present the preparation and characterization of inorganic composite materials with catalyst, biological and/or analytical applications for the fabrication of specific devices. To develop these materials as coatings, Sol- Gel method was employed. This approach will also allow us to have control over the different structural characteristics of the products, such as size, porosity, thickness, crystal sizes, etc. On the other hand, several metallic and/or semiconductor nanoparticles of silver, copper and its oxides are synthesized by chemical methods based on the bottom-up approach. These nanoparticles have optical, electronic, and biocidal properties that are different from the ones in the bulk materials based on TiO2 and SiO2 compounds. The matrices are doped with these nanoparticles, for the development of novel composite nanostructured materials. We produce dense and mesoporous films as host for the nanoparticles, exploring different architectures. The combination of both the inorganic matrix and the nanoparticles will likely enhance the properties of each and allow the development of new technological applications within the fields of health, medicine and alternative energies.
