The edge of the galactic disc: first systematic approach

Resumen:
We report on a quantitative analysis strategy designed to disentangle the several stellar components of the young and old disc of our galaxy along the third galactic quadrant. More than ten selected areas covering 20x20 arcmin each have been observed in the UBV pass-bands. The U, B, V CCD photometry of the fields under study were obtained at the Cerro Tololo Inter- American Observatory with the 1.0 m telescope operated by the SMARTS consortium.
