Resumen:
ABSTRACT   The aim of the present study is to characterize the fatigue response of austenitic steels AISI 310 and AISI 304 in a range of temperatures between 20º C and 600º C. In particular, the influence of the microstructure on the evolution of plastic deformation developed under fatigue test is discussed. It was observed that the steel AISI 310 presents DSA manifestations in a temperature range between 200°C and 600°C. However, no relevant influence of this phenomenon on the fatigue behavior of the material was manifested. The steel AISI 304 shows the development of strain induced martensite at RT. In this study, it was proposed that the formation of martensite is probably responsible for the hardening observed in the material.
