Resumen:
The use of zinc sheets has largely increased lately, fundamentally because of new tendencies in architecture and being very resistant to corrosion in aggressive climatic conditions, malleable, highly recyclable and having excellent final aspect. In the present work, x-ray diffraction technique is used to characterize the crystallographic texture of natural zinc sheets - Zn20 (0.65 mm thick, Cu0.15-0.18%, Ti0.03-0.06%) - subjected to typical forming strain paths. The strong mechanical anisotropy of the material is exhibited by the stress-strain curves and the Lankford coefficients in tensile tests performed at 0º, 45º and 90º with respect to the rolling direction (sigma0máx aproximado de 184.18MPa, sigma45máx aproximado de 209.86 MPa, sigma90máx aproximado de 246.48MPa y R0=0.258, R45=0.419, R90=0.544).The resulting textures show that, depending on the strain path, the intensities of the poles may increase, decrease or remain the same. Nevertheless, the different strain paths do not produce textures qualitatively very different.
