Resumen:
Mechanical properties of low strength materials are measured by using techniques requiring a large number of difficult to prepare samples. When the samples have an intermediate strength they can be tested by some extension of indentation tests that can measure spent energy per unit lengths of fissures (Palmqvist test). An extension to very fragile materials is still an open problem.  In the current presentation we approach the problem of comparing mechanical strength of different hard tissue biomaterials of malacological origin. The evaluation is performed by an extension of the Palmqvist test assumption.
