Resumen:
Lead free 0.5[Ba(Zr0.2Ti0.8)O3]-0.5[(Ba0.7Ca0.3)TiO3] (BCZT) ceramics were synthesized from a mixture of BaCO3, CaCO3, TiO2 and ZrO2 powders by a high-energy ball milling process. We study the phase formation process along the different steps of the mechanical milling. The powders were characterized using XRD and SEM. We also investigate the effect of adding different amounts of MnO2 (0 - 1%) to the BCZT ceramics. Detailed studies of the dielectric properties as a function of temperature and frequency showed a high permittivity (ε ~ 10000) at the Curie transition temperature. We show that the MnO2 addition produces a slight decrease in both, ε and Tc. We also report the effect of the additive on the ferroelectric and piezoelectric properties.
