Resumen:
The objective of this work has focused on studying and comparing the fatigue resistance of some structural steels vis à vis Dual Phase steels. All the steels studied were industrially manufactured and two different kinds of fatigue test were carried out: Complete Reversal Constant Strain Fatigue Test on flat polished specimens and Dynamic Cornering Fatigue Tests on automobile wheels. Despite Dual Phase steels are commonly used for fatigue restricted applications, microalloyed high strength steels can also be employed for structural parts subjected to cyclic loads depending on the mechanical design, surface finishing and level of applied loads.
