. The sixth chapter will describe the uniaxial monotonic and cyclic plastic behaviour of DSSs at room temperature. The fatigue behaviour will be studied in a wide range of strain amplitudes in relation to the dislocation microstructures. The influence of the nitrogen content on the flow stress components will be analyzed and a phenomenological model to understand the role of nitrogen in the softening cyclic behaviour of these alloys will be proposed.
