Resumen:
One of the main reported problems in petrochemical applications of Linear Programming-Dynamic Matrix Control (LP-DMC) type controllers is the complete performance assessment. Since the stationary and dynamic level has not a transparent link between them, is not easy to find appropriate references to evaluate the stationary and dynamic performance, and more important, to clearly determine the source of an eventual poor performance. In this work, the whole LP-DMC problem is analyzed, and an off-line subjacent optimization problem is defined to obtain a solution that is the right benchmark to which compare the stationary and dynamic closed-loop behavior. Based on this idea, a set of indexes to evaluate and diagnose poor controller performance is proposed.
