Resumen:
In this chapter, an alternative process based on dual purpose desalting plants including the capture of CO2 from exhaust combustion gases will be presented. The following equipments are considered for the entire process: a gas turbine, a heat recovery steam generator, a MSF system and an absorbing tower where the CO2 is absorbed in amine solution. Also, a mathematical model for process simulation is presented. The main purpose of the study is to investigate the integration of the CO2 capture process and the combined cycle in order to minimize the greenhouse gases effect in the atmosphere. Post combustion process is considered for the CO2 capture.
