Resumen:
We study the wavelength division multiplexing implementation of the recentlyproposed temporal Fresnel transform encoding technique, in order to evaluate itspotential application for secure data transmission in short-haul fiber optic links. Thedifferent signal broadenings produced by each stage of the encoding process wereanalyzed in a dual time-frequency domain by using a Wigner distribution functionapproach. Furthermore, the robustness of the proposed method was illustrated also, byusing the signal-to-noise ratio between input and decrypted signals, obtained byvarying typical parameters of the encryption-decryption setup. Numerical simulationsrevealed the good system performance. Finally, we consider some issues about theexperimental feasibility with current photonic technology.
