Resumen:
Optical properties of very small metallic objects are discussed. Extinction spectra in the visible and near IR are performed for sizing tiny metallic objects. Both free and bound electrons contributions to dielectric function and its dependence with size are considered to explain the experimental results. Calculations for structured objects like core-coat spherical particles and bimetallic alloys are discussed and compared with recent experimental results. r 2007 Elsevier B.V.
