Resumen:
We have confirmed that  active star formation is taking place in the environs of the H{sc ii} region Sh2-196. We found that, at least, two infrared sources are massive young stellar object candidates. One of them coincides with the SCUBA source JCMTS J025131.0+620848 (associated with IRAS02475+6156), while the other coincides with the source MSX 136.4463+02.4685, which is probably a compact H{sc ii} region.\The presence of young stellar object (YSO) candidates projected onto the molecular gas and dust related to the nebula, suggests that the star formation may have been triggered by the expansion of the nebula.
