Resumen:
Fourier- transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy of water soluble biopolymer extracted from Aspergillus kawachii biomass by means of microwave-assisted technology is described. The yield of biopolymer was 2.7% after 2.5 min of extraction at 500W. A preliminary characterization of extracted biopolymer by FTIR indicates a chitin-glucan complex. The results clearly showed that microwaveassisted extraction could be used to improve the pectin yield and reduce extraction times
