Resumen:
Stimuli-sensitive polymers are very attractive materials for application in different fields of science and technology. In this work acrylic-polyurethane hybrids containing different amounts of 2-(diisopropylamino)ethyl methacrylate (DPA) monomer (10, 30 and 50 wt. %) were prepared and characterized by thermal analysis and FTIR and UV-visible spectroscopies, while measuring water content and the dynamic swelling degree of water. Hybrid polymers of PU and DPA, having good film forming properties were prepared and characterized. The incorporation of DPA monomer modifies the interactions between polyurethane chains as revealed by FTIR analysis, and causes the water uptake process to become pH and temperature-dependent
