Resumen:
The parameters of shape of a watershed are of interest in geomorphological and hydrological analysis because they affect the water amount entering in a system by precipitation, the magnitude of the flows, the time of concentration, etc. The average slope of a basin has an important relationship with infiltration, surface runoff, soil moisture and groundwater contribution to stream flow. La Ballenera catchment is located in the interserrana plain to the southeast in the Buenos Aires province. In this catchment, the average value of the topographic slope is 0.6%. This feature allows the evaporation and infiltration processes become dominant and to behave as regulatory dynamics elements of surface and groundwater. The maps were made by a Digital Terrain Model showing geomorphological and slopes features. Therefore, were identified environments, systems, units and elements. Geology and geomorphology controlled the hydrodynamic behavior of the system. The distribution of piezometric lines shows some permeability homogeneity of the aquifer and a winning behavior of the stream. The characterization of these "geomorphological parameters" is the basis for comprehensive knowledge of the hydrogeological- hydrological system and its application in solving diverse problems such as flooding, pollution and mapping of risk and vulnerability.
