Resumen:
This contribution presents the results of a study about the botanical knowledge of
vegetable species and the products obtained from them, utilized to flavor foods and
beverages, in the urban contexts of the Buenos Aires City and neighboring zones of
the Northeast of the Buenos Aires Province (Argentina). The majority of the species
also are employed with medicinal purposes. Products of common sale were evaluated
at the studied area, interviews were carried out, and fragmented and pulverized
material of 85 species, belonging to 32 families, was identified.
