Resumen:
This contribution presents the results of a descriptive study of the current situation of homegardens at Isla Paulino (Buenos Aires, Argentina), in relation to its historical context of ecological, sociocultural and economic transformations. In this approach, becomes evident the adaptive character of the local horticultural practices. The homegardens and their neighboring areas were relieved, specimens were collected, and ethnobotanical interviews were carried out. Thirty five cultivated species, subspecies and varieties were registered, as well as diverse products obtained from them. They are employed for family consumption and for their small-scale commercialization, as complement for the home economics.
