Resumen:
Some tumors that belong to the MPA induced murine mammary carcinoma model (MMCM) are sensible to antiprogestins and show regression with mifepristone (MFP) administration (Lanari et al., 2009). During the process of regression there is a concurrence of different cellular types to the tumor stroma (Vanzulli et al., 2002). Our specific aims were: 1 - Generate a murine model with SCID-Nod-gamma (SNG) mice and Bone Marrow (BM) from BALB/c-GFP mice to obtain SNG/BM-GFP mice. 2 - Using both SNG and SNG/BM-GFP: a) define if the immune system is a key component of the endocrine tumor regression, b) study the stromal BM-derived cell?s behavior during the endocrine tumor regression, and c) determine whether hormonal treatment (mifepristone - MFP) generates a protective memory against a tumor re-challenge.
