Resumen:
Plants adjust their body form and function to the conditions that they experience in the field, where light and temperature provide information about the environment. Photo-sensory receptors such as phytochrome B (phyB) can act as temperature sensors providing a point of immediate integration of the information provided by light and temperature patterns. Signalling downstream the receptors is mediated by their direct interaction with transcription factors such as PHYTOCHROME INTERACTING FACTOR 4 and regulators of protein abundance such as CONSTITUTIVE PHOTOMORPHOGENIC 1. We will describe the dynamics of phyB and its signalling network under fluctuating conditions of light and temperature and discuss the molecular mechanisms involved in the integration of these cues.
