Resumen:
The reproductive biology of the The Rufescent Tiger Heron (Tigrisoma lineatum) was studied in the Ecological Reserve of the Universidad Nacional del Litoral, Santa Fe (Argentina), during three breeding seasons (n = 6). The nests were built at 204,3 cm from the ground or the water surface. Clutch size was 2 and hatching success 80%. Eggs had a maximum diameter of 59,1±2,8 mm, a minimum diameter of 42,1±0,8 and an average weight of 58,0±4,1g (n = 7). The time spent by chicks in the nest was 40 days. The diet of nestlings was integrated by six taxa, mainly fishes (Synbranchus marmoratus). Thirty-three percent of nest failures were possibly due to predation.
