Resumen:
The South American margin is characterized by the successive accretion of terranes (Pampia, Precordillera-Cuyania, and Chilenia) during the Early-Middle Palaeozoic; the evolution of the associated magmatic arcs and the collisional settings can be studied through the presently outcropping related granitoids. The Sierras de Córdoba are an outstanding place to study the Pampean, Famatinian and Achalian magmatism, linked to the aforementioned accretions in the Cambrian, Ordovician and Devonian, respectively. This contribution presents preliminary results of the paleomagnetic study of the Calmayo tonalite, an Ordovician pluton outcropping in the Sierra Chica de Córdoba (Fig. 1). The results allowed establishing several working hypotheses involving the Pampean terrane history, and the way it was affected by later deformation events.
