This paper seeks to describe a multiple case study of two nature reserves in the Impenetrable (northeast of Argentina), Teuco ? Bermejito and Reserva Grande, while at the same time reflect on the epistemological and methodological challenges posed by researchers while analysing contested territories, where we conducted in ? depth interviews and participant observation during the following periods (2008 ? 2010) - (2013 ? 2016), as well as document analysis of government projects and legislation.
