Resumen:
In this work, photonic devices based on Silicon technology will be simulated, designed and characterized. First, optical power dividers will be designed at a scale of 1x2, 1x4 and 1x8, for each design the radius of curvature and the distances between branches will be taken into account, with the commitment to obtain more compact systems.With respect to the simulations, they are based on beam propagation methods (BPM), in addition to 3D simulations in FDTD (Finite Diference Time Domain) using Lumerical commercial software; this will allow to analyze the effect of bending losses for power splitters.The purpose of this work is to obtain high-performance photonic devices that can meet the requirements demanded by commercial fiber optic networks. The more compact these devices are, not only the size of the devices can be reduced, but in an integrated system of several photonic components, the total volume of the system (for example a Rack) can be reduced, achieving equipment for optical communications more small and with better performance.
